The Days
Before.
How the pack gets ready. The night before, the morning of, the start-line nerves, the after-pack beers. None of it is mandatory. All of it helps.
Lay It
Out.
Bib pinned. Shoes by the door. Socks rolled. Watch on the charger. Whatever you forget tonight you'll panic about at 6am.
Eat the boring pasta. Drink the boring water. Go to bed early and don't sleep — that's normal.

Nobody runs alone.
The Small
Stuff.
Gels you've actually trained with. Vaseline anywhere it might rub. A few extra safety pins because someone always forgets. The lucky sock — yes, the one.
Throwaway top for the start corral. Phone, ID, a twenty for after. That's it.

Go Slow.
Look Around.
Pick up the bib a day early if you can. Walk the expo without buying anything you don't need. Try the gels. Take a photo at the finisher wall before you've earned it — superstition is overrated.
If we're there, we'll be the ones standing too long at the merch tables.

Coffee.
Slow Walk.
Early Dinner.
You travelled to a city. Don't just see the start line and the airport. Walk somewhere quiet. Sit down for a coffee. Eat dinner with someone before 7.
The race is the reason. The city is the reward.

The people matter more than the pace.
Find
The Pack.
We post a meeting point on Instagram the night before. Usually a flag, a tree, the loudest corner of the warm-up area. Show up 20 minutes early so we can hug, take a bad photo, and get into our corrals.
If you can't find us, run your race. We'll find you at the finish.

Sit Down.
Then Beers.
Walk it off for ten minutes. Get the foil blanket on before you cool down. Find your people, find a curb, sit. Eat the banana even if you don't want it.
We pick a bar within walking distance and post the pin. If you finished, you're invited. If you didn't, you're invited.

Numbers Pinned.
Miles Earned.
Pick A Race.
Show Up.
The calendar is right here. The pack is on Instagram. The start line is closer than you think.
